Huckleberry Tree Care is an independent arborist service owned and operated by Tyler Gholson. With a background as an ecologist, educator and arborist, Tyler brings a holistic approach to tree care, prioritizing ecosystem health, wildlife preservation, and aesthetic design. We provide tree care for the overstory, the understory, and your story.
ABOUT ME
Raised in the timberlands of the Oregon Coast Range, Tyler would walk in woods with his father while they picked huckleberries and identified mushrooms, admiring the towering canopies of fir and spruce as they went. His interest in the natural world led him to study at The Evergreen State College where he grew his understanding of ecology and temperate forests. After many years as a science teacher, Tyler began climbing for tree care companies, both large and small, until ultimately coming to start a business of his own.
He now lives and operates in NE Portland under the belief that bigger is not always better, quality takes time, and that honesty is the root of all lasting relationships ; human or otherwise
